Day 89
8/10/22
Today, after golden walks and a trip to see our friends at Walker, Lilly and Ranger (Crazy Gus too) settled in to watch Dog TV on their respective couches while we went up to Big Eagle Lake for lunch. Our dear friends have a beautiful cabin on the lake and we so enjoy our time with them.
There were eagles, glorious blue sky, a pontoon ride and an AMAZING lunch! When we reconvened in the living room, my dear, dear friend, Libby, told me she had a gift for me. This most special friend entered my life less than 20 years ago, but it seems like we have been sisters forever.
I opened the box and started to cry. I immediately knew what this present was. She had spent hours and HOURS making an elaborate "Junk Journal" for me. It is so intricate that it took me a long time to sift through the treasures within. Little pockets with paper for notes, ribbons, decorated paper, a flash card, and so many more surprises! It is simply stunning!
She told me she had made it with love and that I should use it however I wished. Looking through it again and again, I have decided to use it to record little anecdotes from my walks with the goldens. I have already tucked a gem within. One of my special friends at Walker gave me a copy of a Valentine poem her late husband had written for her. It was a charming, heart-warming creation. Thanks to Libby, my devotion to "Junk Journaling" has begun!
