Day 869

Today, Lilly went to Walker and Ranger headed to Mercy Hospital. Both were charming and loveable as they greeted many strangers along the way.

Walking with Ranger towards the Heart Center at Mercy, I heard an exclamation as a we walked by. Someone called Ranger’s name and, when we turned, I recognized a family we had met up on the heart floor. The son was the patient with The parents close at hand. They all told us that our visit the week before had helped them more than we could know.

It made me wonder how often a smile, a moment of connection or a small gesture makes a difference to someone who is in need. What Ranger did was such a small thing in the course of life, yet it made such an impact.

If everyone could simply make an effort to connect with kindness now and then, it might just make a real difference in this old, hurting world.
