Day 838

Our Miss Lilly has needed a new dog food due to kidney issues. My concern, followed by a “spiral” dive down into the internet, left me more confused than ever! Picking up her dry and wet food from the veterinarian office made me even more concerned! She is finicky and I worried about her lack of attention and interest in the food. I needn’t have given that issue a second thought ”wrinkling of the forehead”! She gobbled that new food down and licked the bowl!

My relief and joy were evident! My thought was that this day couldn’t have been any better! How wrong I was!

Being up at the cabin, we headed to bed early to get rested for the next day of adventures. About 1:30 in the morning, the kids gently awakened me and said two words…Northern Lights! I was out of bed and up to the deck in about 30 seconds!

My world has shifted upon seeing the incredible show before and above me. They were breathtaking! We could not tear ourselves away for more than an hour. They were undulating and shooting up into the sky! This display was a memory in the making!

Going from concern about Lilly to the majesty of the night sky was quite the ride! My lesson…Don’t waste your time on worry when you have little power over a circumstance, but spend your energy on the wonders around you! Although I couldn’t have controlled Lilly’s eating any more than I could command a performance by the Northern Lights, I simply had to accept both. Each was a beautiful surprise and an unexpected gift.
