Day 750

These two crazy boys are so close! Sam still has the "Zoomies"...but then Asher does as well! The trust between the two warms my heart!

Trust is a tricky business. Trusting someone is such a leap of faith! To trust can be precarious when a relationship is new and untested. However, as the years go by, trusted friends and loved ones prove their worthiness to be one of those "safe people" and are there no matter what.

Can trust be broken and reinstated? For me, that would depend on the depth of the the breach and whether apologies are sincere. There have been a few individuals who have betrayed my trust in them and, although forgiveness is always in my heart, it is hard to forget and trust once again.

I know I have disappointed a few in my lifetime, but never by design or on purpose. There are those who might close a door and the lock is only on their side. When I know in my heart that there is no way to open that door from my side again, I take a painful journey and walk away. Setting up boundaries for your heart is not selfish, but necessary at times to move forward and open that heart to others who are faithful and true.

There are people in my life that I trust completely and I cherish them beyond measure. To have friends and family who place your heart on a pedestal is a true gift in this life. My Goldens would certainly be in that group. To have these great beasts trust and be trusted in return is something I hold near and dear.

We all make mistakes through the years, but to always strive to be trustworthy to those in our life...whether two or four-legged loved ones, is a goal worth fighting for. Trust is fragile. Handle it with care.
