Day 522

"Hey, Nanny! This is SO satisfying!"

Setting out to walk with Gus this morning, Asher requested to join us in his jeep. Our path led us to an amazing puddle from yesterday's rain, so the temptation was beyond strong! I smiled and told him to go for it!

Speeding forward, doing circles, backing up and a host of other adventures were part of the 'jeep experience.' He was loving every moment! That's when he shouted out the comment about satisfaction! My smile came from the heart. "So satisfying," indeed!

Thinking about things that have brought satisfaction in my life ranged from the smallest event to the biggest of days. Those "Big Personal Life Accomplishments" ranged from graduations to finished home improvement projects to exercise goals and beyond.

The smaller instances, where I found satisfaction, were nearer and dearer to my heart. Making a meal for the family, training pups, watching my own children succeed with a goal and so many other snapshots of life really turned out to be the "biggest of days" for me. Each touched my heart in a way the grandiose accomplishments couldn't even begin to compare to.

So, be proud of those amazing, huge accomplishments, but cherish the smaller ones...in the end they are "SO satisfying," and deeply tell the stories of our lives.
