Day 474
Yes, it was a bit toasty this evening, but Goldens must have their walk! When our sweet Gus was on the home stretch, we paused a moment to take in the grandeur of the sunset. Breathtaking...
As much as I enjoy decorating for the holidays, setting a festive table for guests or even bathing/grooming the Goldens to a shiny finish, nothing can compare to the beauty found in nature.
I have seen any number of things that have taken my breath away...
*The Milky Way, with its millions of stars, unhindered by city lights
*My grandson entering the world
*A pair of swans flying right over my head
*Whales breaching in the ocean
*Flowers that announce spring
*A shooting star
*Perfectly unique snowflakes on my mittens
*Moose in the Rockies
*Sea turtles swimming beside me
...and so many more natural wonders. They always make me stop and savor the moment. Perhaps I am trying to memorize them so that they may be enjoyed again and again as my memory embraces each experience. No matter when or where these gifts are given, they usually take me by surprise. The beauty of nature is compelling and heart warming.
Tonight, the sunset made me stop in awe and appreciate the beauty before me. Of course, my eyes came back to earth to see a wonderful sight right before my eyes...Gus. The Goldens bring their own natural artistry to my world and I appreciate their pure beauty and devotion.
