Day 371

Their devotion humbles me. Where I am, they are at my feet. If I am heading for the door, they want to go with me. At night, they are as close as they can possibly get to the "Human Bed"... sometimes snuggled up tight up ON the bed. Once again, they humble me.

Watching them throughout the day, I began to wonder why their devotion is so unwavering. I feed them, walk them, love them...but that doesn't seem like enough.

Taking it a step further, I took a look at the people I am devoted to and why. There's my dear husband who deserves that devotion due to a multitude of reasons, but mostly because he puts me first... always.

My kids receive my devotion for many reasons. Topping the list would be our beautiful memories and the bond we share.

Friends who hold my devotion have various qualities that hold my heart. Mostly, they are always there for me...whatever my needs. They are so faithful in every way. I trust them.

Truly, I am devoted to my dogs. They are all four at my feet with Ranger nudging my arm for love. Their unconditional love deserves every bit of devotion I can give to them. Treasures!

So, adding up the qualities which corral my devotion would be:

Putting someone first

Beloved memories

Trust

Always being there

Unconditional love

What a daunting list of attributes! Those who hold my devotion take those offered gifts in stride and are cherished in return.

With my Goldens, I can't even tell them how much their devotion means to me in this life. Of course, my devotion for the pups has no bounds As for the rest, I hope my words and actions let them know.
